Going places with... (someone) is a project which explores the power and powerlessness of the voice. Since the 1990s journalists worldwide have faced the increasing risk of imprisonment or murder while carrying out their work. This project asks participants to utter a single vocal object, the name of one such imprisoned or murdered journalist, for a voluntary length of time. The main materials are the voice and duration.

This project was started in November of 2008 and has received contributions from artists and non-artists in New Zealand, Japan and Korea. Most contributions have been made as private performances done by individuals. There have also been several group events, the first involved 16
participants and lasted 30 minutes. The second had more than 20 participants and lasted 15 minutes.
