rm103 Six-week Project

TABLETALK
tag-team tabletop wrestling

part 2:
JAMES WALLACE

Hello again readers, it’s been a long time since we last saw you and we’d love to catch up. What are you doing Wednesday? Perhaps we can catch up? After a quiet couple of months rm103 reopens its doors this week, having spent the last few months beavering away on a few different projects, catching up with old friends and working on a well-deserved tan. It’s high time to get back to business though, and to get the ball-rolling again we have a project that we have call Tabletalk, our first show with Ian Lewis, as well a few treats that we’ve been working on during the break.

Following on from the success of last year’s Snowball project we are starting the year with Tabletalk, another game of sculptural Chinese-whispers or curatorial hot-potato - only this time it’s more like tag team tabletop wrestling than last year’s gentle sport. Contributors work in pairs to create work for the table, before tagging-in another contributor to join the fray. Each new team of participants respond to the works in the room deciding what to add or subtract from the table. First up will be the fabulous Paula Booker, who last year wrapped up Snowball by turning the room into a desert-island version of the Garden of Eden.
